 About the Conference:

The Zimbabwe Library Association Annual Conference is an internationally acknowledged event. The conference always engulfs all issues of librarianship catapulting and triggering off successful researchers, educators and LIS Professionals. The aim is to activate innovations for achieving rapid industrialisation and modernisation of nations. This year’s conference will activate cross-pollination of ideas both virtually and physically by giving a unique approach of hands-on practical presentations and powerfully crafted presentations which will inculcate a sense of innovation within the participants. The main objective would be the application of knowledge and skills in tandem with the national, regional and international best practices.

 

The 2022 Conference will be held on line and physically under the theme, “The role of information professionals in research and innovation to achieve rapid industrialisation and modernisation.”Covid-19 pandemic is with us for a while and we have to adjust and accept it as the new normal. Life goes on under various circumstances and hence service delivery and develop mental projects are continually engaged. In the 2022 Conference, leading academics, librarians, information scientists, partners, book sellers and publishers, researchers, records professionals, archives professionals, and other stakeholders will converge ideas and knowledge on the role of librarians & information professionals in research and innovation to achieve rapid industrialisation and modernisation. Submissions must resonate with the conference’s theme and/or any of the chosen sub-themes listed below. The conference proceedings will be published and distributed electronically and also made available on the Association’s website.

 

Sub-themes:

Research Papers and practical posters are particularly encouraged in the following areas and they should be in line with the role of the librarians in research and innovation to achieve rapid industrialisation and modernisation

  • The role of libraries in industrialisation, development and modernisation
  • Research Data Management for libraries and academics
  • Libraries` Contributions to Research and innovation in research scenarios
  • Assessment and outreach for academic libraries
  • Open Access Scholarship
  • Intellectual property, copyright and legislature
  • Using data to make the case
  • Political economics in the development of libraries
  • The impact of Libraries in the changing education and social construct.
  • Libraries role towards attaining Education5.0 for industrialisation and modernization
  • Information Services during the COVID-19 Pandemic Era

 

Workshops

  3. Ethical Leadership in Libraries
  4. Big data analysis, Open Data, Open Science
  5. Criteria for Publishing in reputable journals
  6. Crafting a research proposal

  4. Review and Acceptance – 07 May 2022
  5. Submission of full papers – 1 June 2022
