The Zimbabwe Library Association (ZimLA) 46th Conference and AGM ended on a high note with elections for a National Executive to steer the library association’s activities. The national executive is elected after two year tenure at the Annual General Meeting.

T. G Bhowa was reelected the President whilst Lantern Fusire was re-elected the Vice President. No changes also for the Secretary General post where Harriet Ncube was reelected. Hosea Tokwe is the Treasurer whilst a new portfolio of Advocacy Officer was won by Jasper Lee Maenzanise the Librarian at the Harare Institute of Technology. Jabulani Sithole was elected the Editor for the association’s journal, the Zimbabwe Librarian. The journal is expected to be published at the end of the year and shall feature the papers presented at the conference.

The national executive has a number of issues to work immediately relating to membership, the constitution, strategic plan and reestablish ZimLA as a professional association for librarians.

The mission of ZimLA News is to keep Information Managers, Librarians and Records Specialists up to date with the latest news. We also seek to promote networking, partnerships and collaboration.
