{"id":571,"date":"2022-03-16T09:13:50","date_gmt":"2022-03-16T09:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zimbabwereads.org\/zimla\/?page_id=571"},"modified":"2023-02-14T10:57:58","modified_gmt":"2023-02-14T10:57:58","slug":"iasl-zimla-annual-pre-conference","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/zimbabwereads.org\/zimla\/iasl-zimla-annual-pre-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"IASL-ZimLA Annual Pre-Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Call for Papers 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(IASL) International Association of School Librarianship Africa Sub-Sahara &amp; the Zimbabwe Library Association\u2019s joint&nbsp;<strong>Hybrid 6<em>th Annual Pre-Conference in School Librarianship<\/em><\/strong><em>in<\/em>&nbsp;Gweru, Zimbabwe, on Monday the 2nd of July 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong>Deadline for submission of proposals:\u00a0<\/strong>31 May 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Notification of acceptance of proposals:<\/strong>\u00a0June 10, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IASL Region 1: Africa Sub-Saharan and ZimLA cordially invite library and information professionals working in the school, public and tertiary colleges libraries, educators \/researchers who either work in Library&nbsp; &amp; Information&nbsp; Science educational training institutions or have an interest in school &amp; public librarianship to submit proposals for recent research \/professional papers\/poster presentations for a Pre-Conference to be held before the Zimbabwe Library Association\u2019s 56th Annual&nbsp; Conference and General Meeting in the City ofGweru, Midlands Province of Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Main Theme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;Innovative technologies shaping the future of school libraries&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Sub-themes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Current technology trends in school libraries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Future technology trends in school libraries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effects of technology on school library design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technology and the changing roles of school librarians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Impact of technology on school libraries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital literacy skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong><em>Papers and posters (print and electronic) are encouraged in any areas related to innovative technologies in school, public and community librarianship.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts for Papers and Posters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Topic guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research\/Professional Paper\/Poster presentations must cover one of the sub-themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals should be submitted by e-mail and must include :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Title of paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstract (200-500 words)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the presenter(s) and country of origin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>E-mail address (es)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Telephone numbers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Presentation format<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#157713\"><strong>Paper\/E-paper\/ Recorded Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each presenter will be allowed twenty (20) minutes maximum to present a paper.
